It's been 30 years since Bob Marley & The Wailers released their legendary Exodus album, but songs such as "Jamming" and "One Love" have stood the test of time.

The Wailers are currently on the "Exodus Tour," and the band promises to play every album cut at the Fox Theatre on Saturday.

Elan Atias is now the Wailers' frontman. The young American singer has played several stints with the band and he's helped bring a fresh sound to the veteran act.

"I've now been back with the band for over a year," Atias said. "The Wailers were the first band I was ever in. I left to do a solo career -- Tony Kanal from No Doubt produced my album.

"The CD did pretty well, but now I'm back with the Wailers. This band isn't about one member -- we're all integral parts of the whole."

Atias has been busy helping the Wailers write new songs and adding his vocals to the mix.

The singer revealed that the reggae outfit is working on an upcoming CD that features "a lot of big names."

"We're also working to help the World Food Program," Atias said. "Every six seconds a child dies from hunger, so we've been doing some benefit shows and getting movie sets to donate their leftover catered food to the program.

"The Wailers have always stood for music and a message. After 25 years, our music is still relevant and it's influencing a new generation. Our music is easy to understand and anyone can relate to it."

Atias is excited to bring the "Exodus Tour" to Boulder.

"Exodus is an amazing album," Atias said. "We're going to be playing the whole album and all the hits. We're also going to play songs from our other albums at the Fox.

"I've logged in over 200,000 miles this year. We played every continent and we found that it's all about the vibes and the message. It's all about world citizenship."

Richie Havens

Boulder's "etown" is hosting a special double-bill Sunday at the Boulder Theater with legendary singer-songwriter Richie Havens and up-and-coming artist Angel Taylor.

Havens has logged in many "etown" shows and he's always passionate about supporting environmental causes.

"This time around we're going to see what happens with the environment very quickly," Havens said. "It's dangerous how many people have said it's no big deal.

"We have to make changes now. I like playing 'etown' because the show has a legacy of protecting ideas and materials. This show is like a family affair to me."

Havens is currently touring to promote his 2008 release Nobody Left to Crown.

"I'm just learning to be open and to have fun," Havens said.

Angel Taylor

Angel Taylor's also on Sunday's "etown" bill and she's going to have a very good year.

The young singer-songwriter will be playing shows with Adele and Brett Dennen in 2009 -- and her CD Love Travels hasn't even hit the streets.

Taylor found her musical calling by accident.

The artist was making a Christmas CD for her family when she was discovered. Producer Michael Blue (Colbie Caillat) liked Taylor's voice and the young performer was signed to Aware Records.

"I never thought this would happen. I thought I'd be working at Starbucks," Taylor said. "I'd never been on a plane before, but they flew me and my mom to New York to play a showcase.

"My phone started ringing off the hook with label offers, but I went with Aware. It's an amazing label -- and John Mayer's on it."

Taylor's debut record will be released this year, but there's already a buzz on her emotive lyrics and songs.

"I try to make all my songs sounds very hopeful," Taylor said. "My music is very soulful and coffee shop sounding.

"Most of my songs come from real experiences. I even have a song about a guy I had a crush on, who was from Colorado. It only took me 10 minutes to write that song."
