Registration is now open for Boulder's fifth-annual Winter Bike to Work Day, scheduled for Jan. 23.

Bikers can register at www.GOBoulder.net.

Eleven local businesses will offer cyclists free breakfast or hot drinks between 7 and 9 a.m.

Those who register also can earn prizes and help the city track the impact riders can make in one day. The city has a goal of 1,400 registered riders after 1,200 registered in 2012.

Winter Bike to Work Day is presented by the Boulder's GO Boulder, CU Bike Station (part of the CU Environmental Center), Boulder County Transportation Department and Community Cycles.
