Boulder police are looking for a suspect in an assault after a woman said she was grabbed from behind in the area near 28th Street and Colorado Avenue on Monday.

According to officials, the victim said she was walking alone on Colorado Avenue toward 28th Street between 4:15 and 4:30 p.m. when she was grabbed from behind by an unknown man.

The victim was able to spray the suspect in the face with pepper spray. The suspect then hit her, police said, but fled after she began to scream for help. She received medical treatment at the scene but did not need to be transported to a hospital.

The suspect was described as a white man in a gray, baggy sweatshirt with a dark blue or black knit stocking cap.

Police are looking to talk to anyone who may have witnessed the attack. The victim said there were three cyclists crossing the street who may have seen the attack.
