The Boulder County Coroner's Office has identified a 36-year-old man who died Jan. 11 at a Boulder homeless warming center as Joshua Gunter, of Arvada.

Gunter was found unresponsive at the east building of Boulder's Congregation Har Hashem synagogue, 3901 Pinion Drive, according to officials.

The building regularly acts as an emergency overflow warming center for the homeless on Thursday nights, according to the website for Boulder Outreach for Homeless Overflow, the nonprofit organization that operates the shelters.

Emergency responders attempted to perform CPR on Gunter when they arrived, but he died at the scene, according to police.

Gunter's death did not appear suspicious, according to Boulder police spokeswoman Kim Kobel.

An autopsy has been completed. The cause and manner of Gunter's death are pending further investigation, according to the coroner's office.
