The kids who train -- and pretty much eat, sleep and breathe climbing -- at the ABC Kids Climbing gym in Boulder want to bring more children and young adults into the sport.
They're hosting Learn to Climb Day on Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. to show other kids that soccer, baseball, softball and football aren't the only options.
"Climbing is something that's accessible to everyone, whether you're two or 102," said the gym's founder Robyn Raboutou. "As experts and passionate climbers, it's our goal to expose as many people as possible to the sport. It's sort of a way to give back. Our hope is that it's a gift to those that come in contact with climbing because we love it and we hope everyone that has the opportunity to climb loves it, too. Everybody you talk to has picked up a basketball or tennis racquet. Not many people have climbed. We're hoping to broaden that."
