Boulder County sheriff's investigators are again asking for public assistance in identifying the suspect in a sexual assault that occurred on the side of Colo. 93 just south of Boulder last June.
The assault occurred at approximately 9 p.m. June 17, 2012.
The victim, a Denver resident, told investigators at the time that she had been visiting friends in Boulder when she got lost going home. She pulled over on the side of Colo. 93 to search for a GPS device she kept in the car, at which point she noticed a man approaching her window.
The man at first offered to help the victim, but then pulled out a gun and directed her into a Jeep SUV he had parked behind her car, where he sexually assaulted her before leaving her on the side of the road, investigators said.
The suspect's vehicle is described as possibly being navy blue or light gray in color.
The suspect has been described as a white male, possibly in his mid 20s, standing 5 feet 11 inches to six feet tall, investigators say.
He is said to have blonde hair on his forearms and a tattoo on his upper left arm. The tattoo was partially obscured by a T-shirt during the assault, but is believed to be circular is shape and either red or green in color.
Officials are looking for anyone who may have driven along Colo. 93 south of Boulder between 8:45 and 9:30 p.m. on June 17, 2012, and noticed two vehicles parked along the west side of the roadway, and anyone who might otherwise have information about the assault or suspect.
