A flood advisory issued for the Fourmile Fire burn area has expired this afternoon as thunderstorms capable of dumping dangerous amounts of rain over short periods of time have moved out of the area.

The National Weather Service issued a flood advisory at 1:50 p.m. after radar indicated thunderstorms capable of flooding small streams were moving through central Boulder County.

Forecasts indicated as much as 0.4 inches of rain could fall in the vulnerable burn area before 2:45 p.m., but the deadline came and went.

No instances of flooding were reported over county emergency radios and Boulder County is no longer under any form of flood warning or watch.
