Another local musician is advancing in a TV singing competition. This time, it’s Boulder’s Monika Leigh Spence on “The Voice.”
Spence entered the Top 48 when was chosen for Blake Shelton’s team during her blind audition, which aired Monday night on NBC. The Boulder blues singer is a housekeeper at the St. Julien Hotel and Spa who has recently performed at Illegal Pete’s, The Attic, the Bohemian Biergarten and, of course, the St. Julien.
Spence will go on to be coached by Shelton and eventually compete in one of the show’s battles, which pit members of the same teams against each other, singing the same song. The coaches choose who advances to the next round.
Longmont singer-songwriter Jeff Brinkman is appearing on “The X-Factor” this season.
