United States Representative Jared Polis has been appointed to the House Ethics Committee in Congress and will also serve on the Rules Committee and Education and Workforce Committee.
“Now, more than ever, we need to hold government officials accountable, and I am grateful to be in a position to do so through my new role on the Ethics Committee,” Polis said in a prepared statement. “The public deserves transparency and accountability from all of their elected officials.”
Polis represents the 2nd Congressional District, which includes parts of Boulder County.
The Ethics Committee administers public disclosures and investigates potential ethics violations.
The Committee on Education and Workforce has jurisdiction over federal education policy, labor law and workforce development. The Rules Committee sets the procedure for how bills will be debated in the House of Representatives, determining whether to allow amendments and determining which amendments advance to the House Floor.
