U.S. 36 reopened in both directions from Lyons to Estes Park after it had shut due to inclement weather, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation.
Colorado State Patrol in Larimer County reported multiple crashs and slide-offs along the stretch of highway, according to its Twitter account.
“Expect major delays,” the tweet reads. “Four-wheel drive vehicle highly recommended.”
CDOT on Twitter reported that conditions were improving, leading to the reopening.
