There's lots of unusual reality news this week, so here's the pick of the lot:
'Celebrity Apprentice'
It's hard to keep reality show secrets in this age of social networking.
The new cast of "Celebrity Apprentice" was busy filming in New York last week, got photographed -- and in a flash, the cat was out of the bag and into the media.
The new celebrity crew includes reality stars Sharon Osbourne and Bret Michaels, singer Cyndi Lauper, actress Holly Robinson Peete, baseball pro Darryl Strawberry, celeb chef Curtis Stone, and comedians Sinbad and Carol Leifer.
After last season's battle royale with Joan Rivers and poker champ Annie Duke, it looks like host Donald Trump invited a kinder, gentler cast to play "Celebrity Apprentice."
This new crop of contestants also are masters of re-inventing their careers. It's very interesting that Michaels signed on to the show -- right before his new book hits the shelves.
Let's see how this crew faces each other in the boardroom.
Balloon Boy
Who knew that there would be a reality show connection with the Balloon Boy story?
Fort Collins' Heene family made news last week after launching a UFO-looking balloon. The clan reported that youngest son Falcon was inside the experimental device, but it turned out he was hiding out in the attic.
Questions now are popping up about the Colorado family, because this crew has been dreaming up a reality TV show.
The Heene family already has appeared on the really bad reality epic "Wife Swap." That's why eyebrows were raised when Falcon said of his disappearance, "We did it for the show."
Did the Heene's plan to make another foray into reality TV land? The family contacted TLC and several other reality channels prior to the balloon launch.
Now the Larimer County sheriff is planning to press charges, saying the whole thing was a hoax to drum up publicity for future reality show.
Dancing on ice
"Dancing with the Stars" has caused lots of injury and pain for its dance floor stars. Now the show's ready to take its dance party to a whole new level.
Yes, the ABC show's currently developing an ice skating version of "Dancing with the Stars."
There is one big question. If most celebs can't last a season on the dance floor, how are they going to make it through a season on the ice rink?
Tori and Dean
Reality TV fans can't get enough of Tori Spelling, her husband Dean McDermott and their ever-expanding family.
The couple already has amused viewers with escapades about running a bed and breakfast, and living in Hollyweird.
Now the romantic duo's tackling America.
Yes, the fifth season of "Tori and Dean" will feature a cross-country, family road trip. This should give National Lampoon's "Vacation" a run for its money.
Stay tuned for the couple's new season on Oxygen.
