Boulder County crews cleaned up Thursday morning following Wednesday's wild summer storm that brought as much as 4 inches of rain and a foot of hail to areas west of Nederland.
Dan Hershman, road maintenance manager for Boulder County, said there were windrows of hail 3 feet tall alongside Lake Eldora Ski Road after snowplows cleared it Wednesday evening.
While the Ski Road is now open, road crews were repairing the slope where several posts were exposed and hanging from the guardrail.
Initial reports of a bridge washout in Eldora by a Nederland police officer were inaccurate, Hershman said, though mud and debris spilled over the bridge during the storm.
Boulder County spokesman Dan Rowland said road crews are used to caring for roads at elevations above 10,000 feet and were unfazed by Wednesday's storm.
"It doesn't matter what time of year it is, we are used to extreme weather," Rowland said.
