The Denver Nuggets announced their 2014 summer league team Monday and it includes a familiar name for University of Colorado basketball fans: Carlon Brown.
The 6-foot-5 guard spent two years in Boulder, but played only one season in a CU uniform after transferring from Utah. Brown helped the Buffs reach the third round of the NCAA Tournament in 2011-12 season after earning the Most Outstanding Player award at the Pac-12 Conference Tournament, which the Buffs won.
Brown was not drafted after completing his college career at CU. He did spend time with NBA D-League teams the Santa Cruz Warriors and Idaho Stampede from 2012 to 2013.
Brown spent last season playing for Hapoel Tel Aviv in Israel. There he averaged 19.6 points per game.
The Nuggets summer league schedule begins Saturday with a 4 p.m. game against Toronto at COX Pavilion in Las Vegas. In all, the team will play five games in Las Vegas.
