Colorado coach Mike MacIntyre says he has a different set of concerns on the cusp of a new season with one of the youngest teams in the nation than he has in the past with older teams.

"Yeah, I'm going to be taking some diaper rash stuff to the game," MacIntyre said today during his weekly luncheon. "We've got some young guys. I hope they're not peeing down their legs the first time they walk out there to play.

"A few of them will have jitters. A few of them won't."

Colorado kicks off the season Friday night against Colorado State in Denver at 7 p.m. at Sports Authority Field. The Buffs have 71 players on their roster of 105 who are either freshmen or sophomores. According to CU's pregame notes, the Buffs are the youngest team in the Pac-12 Conference this season and the 11th youngest in the nation.

"I'm excited about our young people and what they're doing and how they're improving. It's going to be fun to watch them play. At times it's going to be exhilarating and at times it's might want to make us pull our hair out."

We'll have more on the Buffs' preparations for the Rams later today.
