Senior Carly Bolyard scored two goals for the University of Colorado on Friday night as CU defeated UNLV 3-0 and picked up its first road win of the season in the second match of the UNLV Nike Invitational in Las Vegas.

Colorado (3-0) was aggressive right out of the gate. Less than three minutes into the match, senior Bianca Jones had possession near the right sideline where she crossed the ball, landing it just inside the goal box. Bolyard received the ball and nailed a shot in the upper right corner of the goal, giving the Buffs an early 1-0 lead.

"I was really pleased on how we came out and scored a very good goal," said head coach Danny Sanchez. "We talked about coming out fast and making an impact early. Sometimes your best chances are early in the game and you don't always have to wait until the end of the game to capitalize on opportunities. It was a great goal with excellent service from Bianca [Jones] and a nice finish from Carly [Bolyard]."

The Buffs recorded six shots in the opening 45 minutes of play and had a 1-0 lead at halftime.
