DENVER — Nashville's Filip Forsberg scored 1:07 into overtime Saturday to defeat the Avalanche 4-3 at the Pepsi Center.

The Avs rallied from a 2-1 third-period deficit and took a 3-2 lead on Mikko Rantanen's power-play goal with 5:38 remaining in regulation. But the Predators pulled goalie Pekka Rinne and scored on a 6-on-5 attack with 1:06 remaining to force OT.

Forsberg beat goalie Semyon Varlamov with a low shot from the right wing to extend Nashville's winning streak to eight games. The Avs, now 13-1-1 in their last 15 home games, finished 3-0-1 on their four-game homestand.

The Avalanche tied it 2-2 early in the third period on a fortunate bounce — the kind of break that led to Nashville's first goal. Avs linemates Matt Nieto and Carl Soderberg skated in on a 2-on-1 rush and Nieto put the puck off Rinne's right shoulder, and it rose went above Rinne's head and landed in the crease, where Preds forward Kevin Fiala inadvertently pushed it over the goal line.

Nashville's first goal saw Austin Watson put a shot off Avalanche defenseman Anton Lindholm and in the back of the net. Colorado tied it 10 minutes later when defenseman Nikita Zadorov came out of the penalty box and scored with a big slap shot on a breakaway.

The Preds, who were concluding a four-game trip, took a 2-1 lead on Kyle Turris' power-play goal at 8:08 of the second period.
