Broncos quarterback Trevor Siemian looks to pass in a Week 6 game against the New York Giants in Denver.

Quarterback Trevor Siemian, a team captain and previously the Broncos’ starter, is inactive for Sunday’s game against the Bengals. Second-year quarterback Paxton Lynch was elevated to backup after a full week of practice with no setbacks.

Sunday is the first game this season in which Lynch is active, following a lengthy recovery from a right shoulder sprain.

Joining Siemian on the inactive list are tight end Jeff Heuerman (knee), running back De'Angelo Henderson, cornerback Lorenzo Doss, offensive tackle Cyrus Kouandjio, linebacker DeMarcus Walker and receiver Isaiah McKenzie.

Heuerman was ruled out Friday with a knee injury.

McKenzie opened the season as the team’s leading punt returner, but after five muffs and with two lost, the Broncos opted to bench him for Jordan Taylor. Running back Devontae Booker will continue to return kickoffs.
