See what Boulder's weather is like now at the National Center for Atmospheric Research hereAs an indication of how dry this season has been, a minor storm that swept through the Front Range on Wednesday accounted for nearly one-third of the snow Boulder has received this fall.
Boulder meteorologist Matt Kelsch said the city received 3.7 inches of snow late Tuesday and into Wednesday. Including that, Boulder has received 12.3 inches of snow this fall, he said.
Snow totals around Boulder County on Wednesday ranged anywhere from 1 to 4 inches.
Kelsch said the snow was lighter in the eastern parts of the county, including Longmont and Lafayette. Louisville saw 2 inches of snow, while Nederland recorded more than 4 inches. Boulder Canyon was briefly closed due to several accidents but was reopened by the afternoon.
As for the holiday weather, it appears another fast-moving storm could pass through Monday night into Tuesday, Kelsch said.
"There is a pretty good shot at a white Christmas," he said.
Kelsch said it's too early to say how much snow Boulder might get on Christmas, but he did not anticipate a heavy storm.
