Filmmaker James Balog will share his glacial photography that shows changes in climate at a free public event tonight at the University of Colorado.

The event, "A Conversation with James Balog on the Art of Chasing Ice," will be held at 7 p.m. in Macky Auditorium.

The event is hosted by Earth Vision Trust and CU's "Inside the Greenhouse," a project that explores environmental science and the arts and humanities.

Balog is a CU graduate and Boulder-based photographer whose work documents changing ecosystems through time-lapse photography stationed at 13 glaciers on four continents.

He is the founder of the "Extreme Ice Survey" and the subject of the award-winning 2012 documentary film "Chasing Ice."

During “The Art of Chasing Ice,” Balog will share his insights, images and never-seen-before footage while discussing his on-going work in a public interview with Beth Osnes, assistant professor of theater and dance.
