A hot late summer evening is the foundation for tonight's much-anticipated regular season opener for the Broncos, who face Baltimore in the NFL's showcase game to kick off the season.

Is revenge a motive? Perhaps. The Broncos aren't pulling that card, but there is extra incentive to come out strong against the Super Bowl champion Ravens, who beat the Broncos on their way to the title.

It is the first night the Broncos roll out their newest wide receiver, Wes Welker. On the flipside there is a motivated Elvis Dumervil, the former Broncos defensive end now wearing Ravens purple.

Broncos inactives are quarterback Zac Dysert, running back C.J. Anderson, cornerback Quentin Jammer, cornerback Champ Bailey, guard John Moffitt, guard Chris Kuper and tight end Joel Dreessen.

Ravens inactives are wide receiver Aaron Mellette, guard Jah Reid, center Ryan Jensen, wide receiver Deonte Thompson, linebacker John Simon, defensive tackle Arthur Jones and defensive tackle Brandon Williams.
