The Adams County Coroner's Office on Friday identified the man whose body was found Wednesday morning in an open space area near the Walmart Supercenter in Broomfield.

The deceased man was identified as 33-year-old Kenneth Barnes, but the coroner's office released no other information about him or his death. Barnes was found by a passerby around 8:30 a.m. Wednesday in the open space in the 4600 block of West 121st Avenue, which is behind the Walmart Supercenter and the Broomfield Corners shopping center.

It's not yet known whether police consider the death suspicious. Investigators taped off a crime scene behind the Walmart Supercenter.

The coroner's office said it could be between 10 and 12 weeks before an official cause of death is released.

Barnes' last-known address was in the Cimmaron mobile home park at 12205 Perry St.

Police have provided no further information.
