University of Colorado women's basketball coach Linda Lappe promoted Jonas Chatterton to associate head coach on Wednesday.
Chatterton spent the past four years as an assistant coach to Lappe. He assists with recruiting, opponent scouting, post play development, offensive and defensive schemes and serves as the program's liaison with marketing and promotions.
"Over the past three seasons, Jonas has shown a tremendous ability to coach and mentor our young women," Lappe said. "His experience and expertise have helped us restore our great tradition and put CU women's basketball back on the national map."
Prior to joining Colorado, Chatterton spent eight seasons as an assistant coach at BYU under Jeff Judkins (2001-09). Before his BYU stint, Chatterton spent two years as an assistant men's basketball coach at Westminster College, an NAIA school in Salt Lake City (1998-2000) where he helped revive a program that had been discontinued in 1979.
Chatterton received his bachelor's of science degree from the University of Utah in 2000 where he majored in exercise and sports science. He played one year of basketball for Rocky Mountain College (Mont.) before transferring to Utah.
