These days, there's a limited number of Boulder music venues, but that's not stopping clubs from bringing in high quality music.

Locals can hit everything from underground clubs to major concert venues, and see every kind of music from hip-hop to indie pop.

Here's the roster of Boulder's live music venues:

Astroland: 4413 N. Broadway. The underground concert hall is an arts-space that features contemporary up-and-coming bands. The venue also offers movies and poetry readings.

Boulder Outlook Hotel: 800 28th St., 303-443-3322. If you like jazz and the blues, you'll love the line-up of local and national acts that play the hotel.

Boulder Theater: 2032 14th St., 303-786-7030. The Boulder Theater is one of Boulder's primary larger venues and it brings in electronic, indie rock, acoustic, jazz, bluegrass, funk and lots of classic acts.

Caffe Sole: 637 S. Broadway, 303-499-2985. The out-of-the-way cafe books a lot of jazz and acoustic acts.

Club 156: Located in CU's University Memorial Center, 303-492-7704. The intimate club is booked by the CU Program Council and features everything from hip-hop to indie rock acts. The venue books local and national acts.

Conor O'Neill's: 1922 13th St., 303-449-1922. The Irish pub brings in rock, Celtic, blues and acoustic artists.


Fox Theatre: 1135 13th St., 303-443-3399. The Fox Theatre operates with the Boulder Theater as Z2 entertainment. The Fox specializes in hip-hop, indie rock, electronic, jam and acoustic music. The venue primarily books national bands, but features lots of local talent, too.

Laughing Goat: 1709 Pearl St. The Laughing Goat hosts music six nights a week in an intimate café setting. The venue brings in singer-songwriters, folk artists, jazz performers and indie bands. Local and national talent perform at the Goat.

Lazy Dog: 1346 Pearl St., 303-440-3355. The Lazy Dog features top Boulder and Denver bands that play reggae, indie pop, rock and acoustic music.

No Name Bar: 1325 Broadway. This place is Boulder's secret venue and likes it that way! A handful of acts of all kinds pop up here, but you have to check out the venue's Facebook page to get the scoop.

Old Main: Located on the CU campus, across from Macky Auditorium. The CU Program Council's been booking reggae, rock and acoustic shows in the vintage room.

Shug's Low Country Cuisine: 2017 13th St., 720-398-9036. Shug's is located at the old Trilogy/b-side Lounge location and recently opened its doors. The venue's been booking a lot of local talent that play everything from the blues to acoustic music. Look for regional and national acts to hit Shug's this fall.

Topo Ranch: 1505 Pearl St. Several times a month, the organic clothing store hosts acoustic music gatherings featuring local and national acts. The store hosts a special show the first Friday of the month.
