Denver's a whole 'nother music scene, and it's worth the ride to check out all the local bands and national acts playing the big city.

Fillmore Auditorium: 1510 Clarkson St., Denver, 1-800-745-3000. This is the place where the big boys play Denver. The venue books hip-hop, rock, indie rock, metal, electronic pop and more.

Marquis Theater/Summit Music Hall: The Marquis is located at 2009 Larimer St., and the Summit Music Hall's located at 1902 Blake St. Both venues are owned and operated by SodaJerk Presents. That means the clubs specialize in indie and alternative rock acts -- with occasional classic rock bands thrown in for good measure.
Ogden Theatre: 935 E. Colfax Ave., Denver, 1-800-745-3000. The Ogden brings in major acts that want to play smaller rooms. The music hits rock, blues, pop, indie rock, metal, country and electronic modes.
Oriental Theater: 4335 W 44th Ave., Denver, 720-420-0030. The Oriental brings in a little bit of everything. You can catch DJ's, rock, acoustic, hip-hop and comedy nights.
Quixote's: 2151 Lawrence St., Denver, 303-366-6492. Quixote's is the ultimate jamsters bar and the venue features jam, reggae, zydeco and blues bands.
It's a bit of a drive up to Fort Collins, but the town is one of Colorado's thriving music centers.

Avogadro's Number: 605 S. Mason St., 970-493-5555. This venue is part restaurant and part concert hall. Avogadro's caters to a bluegrass, folk, jazz and reggae crowd.
Hodi's Half Note: 167 N. College Ave., 970-472-2034. The Half Note plays host to the funk, ska, jam and reggae crowd.
