A 52-year-old Longmont woman was injured when the Toyota Prius she was driving struck a tree in a rollover accident on South Pratt Parkway and Ashcroft Drive shortly before 10:30 a.m. Thursday.
The woman, identified by police as Catherine Peterson, had to be extricated after being trapped inside the vehicle.
She was transported to Longmont United Hospital with what officer Kris Ford of the traffic enforcement unit said were believed be non-life-threatening injuries.
Ford said the accident is still under investigation, and police are looking at the possibility that the woman's driving was impaired by prescription medication. There were no passengers with her in the vehicle.
Ford said the woman was driving the Prius south on Pratt Parkway when she appeared to have drifted left onto the median, striking a tree before coming to rest in the street.
