T he University of Colorado's Recreation Center will re-open Friday after a short closure with a new location for the facility's most popular space, the weight and cardio room.

The equipment was moved to the general gym this week as part of the Rec Center's ongoing renovations, said Annie Mulvany assistant director of marketing for the facility.

"I think students will like the new space because it's more open and there's more light and it just feels more like a proper gym," Mulvany said.

The facility's fitness and wellness room, where group classes are typically held, was also relocated to the old systems room, where it will be more visible.

The new locations are temporary and the equipment will be relocated in December once the new spaces are completed, Mulvany said.
