Power was knocked out in parts of east Boulder for about half an hour this evening after a truck took out a transformer in the 7000 block of Baseline Road near Mallard Pond Drive.

Xcel Energy spokesman Mark Stutz said he did not know exactly how many customers lost power, but the company was able to restore electricity to most of them by re-routing distribution.

The first call came at 4:59 p.m., Stutz said. He did not know how long it would take to fully restore power in the area.

Power lines are down in the area and emergency crews are responding.
