Boulder County on Friday will lift weekday restrictions on cycling in Lefthand Canyon between U.S. 36 and Lee Hill Road.
The stretch of road for the past four weeks had been closed to bikes Mondays through Saturdays for safety purposes, as construction crews transported truckloads of material into the canyon for flood repairs, according to a county news release.
Heavy hauling has been completed, but construction of a winter road providing access to James Canyon and Balarat will continue for several weeks, according to the county, so cyclists are advised to be wary of construction traffic and maintenance work in the area.
James Canyon will remain closed to all but area residents until construction can be completed.
Transportation officials, in the release, expressed gratitude to cyclists and motorists for their patience during the work.
