The sandwich has to be one of the best inventions ever.

It doesn't get much tastier than shoving piles of whatever strikes your fancy in between bread and being able to chow down, sans utensils.

For our sake, there's no shortage of the beautiful sandwich here in Boulder. With a colossal selection of delis, this town offers cheap and tasty eats of nearly every combination imaginable.

Take a break from cafeteria food and ramen noodles, and try one of these great delis in town.

Snarf's own hot pepper relish is enough to develop an addiction to this sandwich shop. Fear not, you can buy it by the jar. Oh, and the fresh bread is pretty damn good, too.

There are about 20 sandwich options, including a mouth-watering prime rib as well as a slew of vegetarian options, like an artichoke, feta and provolone sub.

At lunch, you will wait in line -- Snarf's colorful shops are a local favorite.

Got the munchies? Cheba Hut's got your back.

The marijuana-influenced sub shop boasts "the only thing fried is the occasional customer." After examining the menu, you'll need to convince yourself that you are, in fact, not in a medical marijuana dispensary.

Oh, the bread. That fantastic, warm, soft, fresh-baked bread. Drool.

Salvaggio's sandwiches are made with a wide variety of fresh deli meat and cheeses, sliced right into the sandwich. Try a hot pastrami or shaved roast beef.

There aren't many fancy-shmancy selections, but what the Italian deli does offer is just right.
