Saturday marches to oppose Trump agenda
For the past three Saturdays (Feb. 4, 11, and 18), concerned citizens have been meeting at 11 a.m. at the Central Park bandshell (located near the intersection of Broadway and Arapahoe) to protest the actions of President Trump and oppose his agenda.
After a few announcements, the group (which has varied in size from 250 to 1,000) has marched from the bandshell to the Boulder County courthouse on Pearl Street. The protests are nonviolent, patriotic (some of us bring American flags) and action-oriented (we call our elected representatives on cellphones, and we plan visits to their offices). These events are over by noon or shortly thereafter.
We invite all CU students who also oppose Trump and his agenda to join us. We are stronger when we join together, and one of the chants you'll hear from the group is "Power to the people!" I hope we'll see many of you there for the march on Feb. 25 and on subsequent Saturdays.
