Breaking News

A Louisville woman who was sentenced to 20 years probation in June for having sex with an underage boy and bearing him two children appeared in court Monday to answer charges that she had sexual intercourse with the victim about five times since being sentenced.

Irene Gomez, 39, had been free on intensive supervised probation since her June 30 sentencing, which included a condition that she not have any contact with the victim.

She was picked up by police earlier this month on suspicion of violating her probation.

According to a court document, Gomez’ probation officer reported that Gomez admitted to having sex with the victim approximately five times over the summer.

Denise Metz, Gomez’ probation officer, wrote that Gomez’ actions show she doesn’t realize the severity of her original offense.

“She placed blame on the victim for this continued contact saying that he was the one who kept coming to her house,” Metz wrote in a report. “She exhibited no comprehension of the impact the original offense or this subsequent sexual contact may have had on the victim.”

Metz also wrote that Gomez has used cocaine on several occasions since her sentencing, another violation of her probation.

Gomez was originally arrested last year after police accused her of sexually assaulting a teenage boy. According to a police report, one of the babies she had with the minor was conceived when he was 13 and she was 32; the other was conceived when he was 16 and she was 35.

Her sentence revocation hearing was postponed Monday and rescheduled for Oct. 20.

Gomez is being held in Boulder County Jail on $10,000 bond.

The ‘victim’?It would appear he’s somewhat complicit in this.Is he an adult yet?Victims don’t typically come back for seconds, thirds, fourths, fifths…That’s not to exonerate the offender but come on…

and note the words of prosecutor Amy Okubo “I don’t think there’s any question that (if the gender roles were reversed) we’d be talking about a prison sentence here,” Okubo said. “Frankly, her behavior is outrageous.”

Vote against retaining Judge Klein in November.

Now tell me – just how intensive was her supervised probation if she was able to have five sex dates with this minor man-child who was obviously identifiable to the system?

Who was intensely supervising her when she was tootin’ up the cocaine?

Sounds like the P.O. who was assigned to intensely supervise this bimbita should be looking for another line of work.

Had this been a 32 year old man nailing a 13 year old girl and getting her pregnant twice, we wouldn’t be hearing about a stupid 20 year probation.

Or maybe we would.

Is 20 years of probation all you get for molesting an underage girl in Boulder County?Justice is blind, or at least it’s supposed to be.Gender shouldn’t matter. With a sentence precedent like this one, look out.It could be open season on little girls thanks to Judge Klein.

Mary kay Letorneau got out of prison and lives with her “victim”. He is now an adult and can make his own choice. He says he never was a victim and resents the courts for breaking up his relationship for so many years. They now are a family. The children were concieved when he was a minor. The only crime was the seperation of that family.

How can we judge her without a picture to see if she is attractive or not?

This obviously is a complicated case. Cases involving so much emotion between the participants usually are, take domestic violence cases for instance. As far as the intensive supervision goes, it’s not as if the probation officer sits and babysits this woman 24 hours a day. As taxpayers would you be willing to pay for this, as citizens of the US would you stand for this. It’s obvious that this woman needs prison time and her victim needs counseling. For those of you that want quick, decisive punishment that skirts the constitution see if you can get ole Dubya elected to four more years or better yet allow him to establish a monarchy.

I have to agree with Adam_Baum. As shallow as it is, I find it hard to arrive at any basic sound judgement without seeing some photographic evidence on which I base my thinking. This is about sex, I am a man, I need visual stimulus!
