BOULDER, Colo. –
Three teenagers and a 20-year-old Boulder man have been arrested on suspicion of breaking into a downtown Boulder coffee shop, stealing food and drinks and then entering a vacant office on the building’s second floor to eat, smoke and drink alcohol, according to Boulder police.
The three males and a female were caught about 9 p.m. Wednesday after custodians, unloading supplies at Sydney’s Cafe at 1375 Walnut St., heard young voices coming from upstairs, said police spokeswoman Sarah Huntley.
When police arrived, officers saw the four people leaving â two were taken into custody right away, and two took off running, Huntley said. Officers eventually caught them all and booked them into the Boulder County Jail.
Police found soda cans, cookies, candy and cigarettes in the second-floor unoccupied space, Huntley said.
“They also believe some of them had been drinking alcohol,” she said.
