The Triple A radio conference is hosting its annual gathering this week and lots of great music is coming to Boulder.
The industry publication Friday Morning Quarterback and the Fox Theatre are hosting ticketed shows with everyone from Gomez to Yonder Mountain String Band, but there`s still plenty of free music to check out on the Hill.
Tonight through Friday, FMQB and the Fox host a series of free shows at the Hill parking lot (across from The Sink).
Here`s the scoop on the free Triple A radio conference acts:
Marcy Playground: This top-selling `90s band had a Top 40 hit with “Sex and Candy.” The band`s making a comeback with some new alt-rock tunes.
Cory Chisel & The Wandering Sons: Chisel`s inspired by his church background, and this alt-folk act is gaining note for its dark CD Death Won`t Send a Letter.
Matt Morris: This local artist started out on the “Mickey Mouse Club” and went on to write tunes for Justin Timberlake, Kelly Clarkson and Christina Aguilera. Morris is now set to boost his own career.
Bob Schneider: Sandra Bullock`s former main squeeze has made his own name in the music industry. Schneider can sing emotive ballads, perform funk-filled and Latin tunes — and rock out with the best of them.
Will Hoge: Hoge is a national recording artist, but he`s become a favorite in the Boulder/Denver market. This Nashville musician knows how to combine just the right proportions of rock and countrified elements into his memorable songs.
Joshua James: This indie folk artist is gaining note for his emotive songs and very unique vocals. James has been paying his dues on the road opening for Old 97`s and Reverend Horton Heat.
