The University of Colorado will host dozens of activities during the honeymoon period that happens between student move-in and the start of classes.

Freshmen are settling into the dorms up until Thursday, which will mark the busiest move-in day. Fall-semester courses begin Monday.

New students are required to attend a convocation at 11:30 a.m. Friday at Folsom Field. The official gathering welcomes students to the university, relaying the meaning and responsibilities of their entry into the academic community. Chancellor Phil DiStefano, along with other leaders, will address the crowd. The Golden Buffalo Marching Band will perform.

Immediately following the convocation, attendees can proceed to “Global Jam,” an international picnic on Farrand Field. There will be music and a variety of food, including Persian tomato cucumber salad, barbecue pork bao with plum sauce, Kiwi lamb burgers, vegetable curry pie and Bavarian cream puffs.

“Global Jam” is included in the student meal plan and is available for faculty, staff and Buff OneCard holders. Guests may purchase meal wristbands on site for $6 each.
