To all of those who are not wanting their children to listen to President Barack Obama’s Web talk to children on Tuesday: What are you saying to them about respect for the office of the president when you tell them you don’t want them to listen to what he has to say?

Is that being patriotic? Is that teaching them to respect the office of the president? And what are you so afraid of? Do you really think he is going to politicize a talk to children?

I think he will probably tell them the importance of staying in school so they can compete in a 21st century global community.

Use a little common sense, people. Regardless of whether or not you voted for the president or approve of what he is doing, he is still our president and deserves the respect the office entails.

And your children deserve to hear what he has to say.
