‘Tis the season to celebrate with some brand new reality news:
NBC’s “The Sing-Off” hosts its finale tonight, and we can all celebrate the end of this reality TV disaster.
This weeklong epic has probably set back the a cappella genre, as it focused more on appearances than talent.
Unfortunately, Boulder’s Face was the first group to get the axe. The lumberjack shirts and Bon Jovi tune didn’t help the cause.
That means the grand finale will feature Nota, The Beelzebubs and Voices of Lee vying for the recording contract.
Thankfully, “The Sing-Off” will be over tonight.
On the plus side, it did give Face a lot of publicity.
Jon and Kate
Jon and Kate Gosselin’s divorce was finalized last week, and that means the official end to “Jon & Kate Plus 8.”
The couple’s TV show ran for five seasons and proved that reality fame can be a very tricky thing.
Kate Gosselin has a new project in the works, but the couple’s absence from reality TV will truly be a holiday gift.
‘Idol’ creator’s ‘Dream’
Reality TV has bounced into many different directions. “American Idol” creator Simon Fuller now has a new twist for the genre.
Fuller’s newest reality show is called “If I Can Dream.” The online program will fuse the elements of reality TV into the world of social networking, and the producer’s hoping to create a new sub-genre of shows.
“If I Can Dream” will feature five people who want to make it in Hollywood. Fans will be able to interact with the cast via video uploads, and Twitter and Facebook messaging.
If you love social networking sites and modern technology, this is going to be your new favorite reality show.
‘Jersey Shore’s’ fashion tips?
Every once in awhile, a reality show catches on like fire. This year’s winner is MTV’s “Jersey Shore.”
The show already has irked advertisers with its stereotyping, pulled a controversial bar fight scene and given the phrase “New Joisey” new meaning.
Now, the media’s exploiting the castmembers’ beach-trash fashion sense.
“Jersey Shore’s” Snooki Pulizzi just showed off her pouffed-up hairstyling techniques on MTV, and People magazine offered up the cast’s “beauty and style secrets.”
Fake tans and lacquered hair will now reign supreme in America. Just when we thought we were saving the ozone layer.
A new episode of “Jersey Shore” airs on New Year’s Eve.
