Is the economy troubling you? The economy cannot hope to recover while more and more money is eaten up by health insurance. Insurance companies boost premiums from 15 percent to 70 percent every year. They make a quick 30 percent on every transaction. (The Veterans Administration spends about 2 percent to do the same thing.)
If you have medical insurance, are you sure you’re really covered? According to a recent Harvard Medical School study, 75 percent of people who have been driven into medical bankruptcy had health insurance at the time. This makes sense considering that insurance companies reward their personnel for denying coverage with millions of dollars in bonuses. For-profit means for profit.
Let’s share some good solutions. You are invited to a free public discussion forum at the Unitarian Church of Boulder, 5001 Pennsylvania Ave., from 1:30 to 4 p.m. Saturday.
