University of Colorado freshman Nicole Saucedo will be named the first winner of the “Outstanding Youth” award, a new category included in this year’s National Philanthropy awards.
The honor is given to a Colorado youth “who has demonstrated outstanding commitment to the promotion of philanthropy and volunteerism through her work in the community,” according to a news release.
Saucedo, a molecular, chemical and developmental biology major at CU-Boulder, will receive a $2,500 scholarship toward her degree.
