OK, so you got shut out of buying tickets for the Disco Biscuits’ shows at the Boulder Theater on Thursday and Friday.

Never fear, you can still check out the official Disco Biscuits after-show parties at the Fox Theatre. The late-night music bashes run Thursday through Saturday, and each night features a unique electro music lineup.

Thursday’s lineup stars Sub:Station with Jon “The Barber” Gutwillig from the Biscuits with Chris Michetti from RAQ, plus a set by Orchard Lounge. Friday’s party features Disco Biscuits spin-off band Conspirator with Michetti and, Saturday’s event presents DB alter ego act Dr. Fameus with Mark Farina.

Several of the groups talked to the Daily about their sets, so check out these mini-interviews:

Orchard Lounge

Orchard Lounge is an up-and-coming DJ group that incorporates downtempo, house, tech, hip-hip, soul and funk into its mix.

The Chicago act stars Spencer and Bethany Lokken, and Ben Silver. The trio’s inventive grooves have landed this outfit on Disco Biscuits, Sound Tribe Sector 9 and Bonobo’s stages.

Thursday night, Orchard Lounge’s ready to transform Boulder.

“We definitely still use instruments in our mix,” DJ/producer Spencer Lokken said. “We’re know our music, and we’re into the natural progression of spreading our art and being tastemakers. We started out playing free block parties and it morphed into a bigger project.

“We’re going to be more uptempo to get the party going at the Fox. We have a wide variety of sounds, and we’ll probably play a new disco, house and tech set in Boulder.

“It will be great fun to see what the after hour crowds will be like.”

Conspirator plans to show off a new side of its sounds at the Fox.

The Conspirator core features Disco Biscuits’ Marc Brownstein and Aron Magner. Friday, the duo gets to stretch out and show off its high-energy electro set for Boulder.

This time around, Conspirator is traveling as a four-piece outfit. Locals can look for fresh improvisations and special musical surprises.

“Conspirator is something we do when the Disco Biscuits take time off,” Brownstein said. “We get more into a full-on electronic sound and we learned more about producing. Once you can do that, you can make anything work in any style of music.

“We love incorporating new things into our sound and that’s helped us really progress. This after-party will be cool, because nobody wants to go to bed after a Disco Biscuits show. We’ll do a little more improvisation and interaction with band members at the Fox.”

Chris Michetti

Guitarist Chris Michetti usually plays with his band RAQ, but he’ll be playing two Disco Biscuits after-parties.

Michetti will perform Thursday with Sub:Station and Friday with Conspirator.

“Sub:Station is a dubstep act and it’s very cool,” Michetti said. “Everyone wants to keep raging after a Disco Biscuits show. This will be an awesome continuation of the party. All this improvisation will be in your face.

“There will be lots of rhythmic shredding and there will be some bad ass music.”
