Red Rocks is going to be on fire!

Saturday, the Disco Biscuits show off the 2011 edition of Bisco Inferno and they’re bringing in a very diverse group of artists.

This time around, the Biscuits enlisted electronic music master Rusko, Big Boi from OutKast, and up-and-coming electro acts Boombox and Emancipator.

The Disco Biscuits are in town to promote their upcoming album and release a new DVD. The film project was recorded during the band’s 2009 and 2010 Red Rocks’ shows.

The band has several surprise events planned, so check out for more info.

“We always love upping the ante for Bisco Inferno,” bassist Marc Brownstein said. “We were looking for acts that had the ‘wow’ factor. The lineup’s really diverse.

“Rusko is the number one dubstep DJ in the world and Big Boi’s one of the top hip-hop artists in the world. We rounded things out with Boombox and Emanicipator.”

The Disco Biscuits won’t be back to Colorado for awhile, so the band wanted to come up with a unique Bisco Inferno set.

“This is going to be a totally diverse set that’s a surprise,” Brownstein confirmed. “We haven’t played that much this year. We were working on the new album.

“We’re going to play the heavy-hitters and give the fans what they want. We asked on Facebook what five songs people would like us to play — and what we wanted to play was very in line with the fans.”

Colorado will also get a sneak peak of the Biscuits’ new album, Otherwise Law Abiding Citizen. The band’s already leaked out songs from the project.

“On this record, the music speaks for itself,” Brownstein said. “It’s our first studio record in three years. We’ve been out there as much as possible and we wanted this album to have 10 songs the fans have already embraced.

“With new songs and new technology, it’s more representative of the Disco Biscuits’ sound. It’s a glossy example of our best live shows. Every song is seven to 11 minutes and it has a jam — our improvisational prowess really clicked.”

The Disco Biscuits will have several opportunities to show off the new tunes.

The jamtronica band’s hosting its annual Camp Bisco July 7-9 in Mariaville, N.Y. This year’s event includes sets by the Biscuits, Bassnectar, Pretty Lights, Ratatat, Ghostland Observatory, Rusko, Lotus and Shpongle.

The Disco Biscuits are also joining the Identity Tour. The road trip will take them into new markets, and feature performances by Pretty Lights, Rusko, Kaskade and Skrillex.

“The opportunity came up and they offered the tour to us,” Brownstein said. “It will give us the opportunity to play places we never played. It’s a chance to grow ourselves in these markets.

“It was a no-brainer. How could we turn it down? They made us a headliner and it will give us the chance to really stand out.”
