No need to Google this one — Christian Lepanto knew right away where the Colorado Daily rock was hiding this week.
“With the first clue, I already had it,” Lepanto said. “The second clue just confirmed it.”
Lepanto found the rock outside of the new Google offices — formerly the home of the Colorado Daily — near Pearl Street. He wasn’t able to get over there on the first day, but he was glad to see that no one had found it yet on the second day. The rock had been hidden in bushes near the west side of the building.
“The smartest place is Google,” Lepanto said. “All those brilliant minds — and yet no one there found the rock.”
He walked over and searched after dropping his 6-year-old daughter off at school. After he found it, his daughter was incredibly impressed.
“She slept with it last night. She put it under her pillow,” Lepanto said.
Lepanto said the money will be used for the most important thing right now: bills.
“I wish I could say I was doing something fun with it, but times are what they are,” he said.
Although he’s only looked for the Colorado Daily rock once before, Lepanto said he knew where it was last week at Macky, he just couldn’t get over there because of the snow. Now, he’s ready for more.
“I want to find more than one,” he said.
