DENVER — Colorado artists are crying foul after Denver International Airport awarded nearly $300,000 to out-of-state artists for art projects.
DIA selected two artists from California and one from Brazil to receive the money.
Denver artist Ratha Sok says there are plenty of artists in Colorado who need the work.
DIA spokeswoman Jenny Schiavone tells KUSA-TV the artists who were chosen by a selection committee felt the other artists were better.
The fees paid to the artists come from DIA parking fees, vendor rents and landing fees.
