AURORA, Colo. — A California company is getting an incentive package to open a water bottling plant in suburban Denver.

The city council in Aurora voted 9-to-1 Monday to approve the package for Ontario, Calif.-based Niagara Bottling.

The Aurora Sentinel reports that Niagara is set to bottle 300,000 gallons of the city’s water per day, six days a week. That amounts to less than one percent of Aurora’s total water production per year.

The company plans to build a 177,000-square-foot facility that would create 36 full-time jobs.

The incentive agreement provides the company with tax waivers and rebates of more than $500,000 so long as it maintain the jobs.

Aurora’s water has been ranked as one of the best tasting in the nation.
