The University of Colorado Student Government candidates will discuss student fees and the importance of campus programs at tonight’s debate at 7 p.m. in Humanities, room 1B50.

There are 70 candidates, including those running for positions within CUSG, Arts and Sciences Student Government, Leeds Council and Engineering Council. Only CUSG candidates will debate tonight, according to CUSG election commissioner John Michael Tomczak.

Candidates from the Pulse — or progressive — group and the Entrust — or conservative — group will debate.

Candidates from the third ticket, America, which only includes three executives, will not be debating because they turned in their petitions late making them “write-in only” candidates, Tomczak said. The candidates will not be included on the ballot but students can vote for them by writing their names or the ticket name into their ballot.

Reporter Whitney Bryen (@soonerreporter) will be live tweeting from tonight’s debate with hashtag #CUSG.
