Victor Wooten, a five-time Grammy winning bass player and composer, will play the Boulder Theater on July 12 as part of his solo summer tour.

Wooten is probably best known as one of the founding members of  Béla Fleck and the Flecktones. He’s been on the road with the group recently, working on his own album, Words and Tones  in downtime. Wooten and his band rotate through instruments mid-song during live performances, taking turns on bass, acoustic bass, drums, keyboards, trumpet, trombone, cello, percussion and vocals.

Wooten will also be at Cervantes in Denver on July 14. Both shows start at 8 p.m., and tickets are on sale now for $23 at the Boulder Theater and $24 at Cervantes.
