Two University of Colorado student groups are bringing television’s “Project Runway: All Stars” winner and Denver native Mondo Guerra to campus to talk about HIV awareness and his experiences as a Latino member of the LGBTQ community.
A moderated question and answer session will begin at 7 p.m. Thursday in the Old Main auditorium, followed by an open Q&A with the audience. The event is free but only the first 214 people will be let in due to limited seating.
Guerra revealed his HIV-positive status during a challenge in season eight of “Project Runway” through a collection that incorporated bright-colored plus signs.
Kenna Egbune, of CU’s Queer People of Color and EyeResist groups, said Guerra will talk about his HIV status, being a fifth generation Mexican American and his experience on “Project Runway.”
