Admit it, you’ve always wanted to be on ski patrol.
Get paid to ski, help others and spend all day on the mountain? Sign us up.
This weekend, you can tryout for Eldora Mountain Resort’s ski patrol on Saturday. Tryouts are for both paid and volunteer positions, and applicants need to have a Colorado EMT (emergency medical technician) or OEC (outdoor emergency care) certification.
If you miss the ski test this weekend, there’s another on April 7.
If you’re too busy watching your March Madness bracket go to crap, you can follow the CU Triathlon team at the 2013 Lake Havasu Triathlon in Lake Havasu City, Ariz., on Saturday. The race doubles as the Mountain Collegiate Triathlon Conference championship, or CU’s regional competition before heading to nationals in April.
You can follow the team’s progress on the CU Triathlon team Facebook page here: https://facebook.com/CUTriathlon.
While you’re following the triathlon team, you can also follow the CU women’s ultimate Frisbee team, Kali Ultimate, as they compete at the College Women’s Centex tournament in Austin, Texas, this Saturday and Sunday.
Follow the team here: http://scores.usaultimate.org/scores/#college-womens/tournament/12190.
And finally, if you want to combine some drinking with your sports, check out the Hops and Handrails Beer Fest and Rail Jam in Longmont at Left Hand Brewing on Saturday from 2-7 p.m.
The event, which features a 25-foot ski ramp, benefits SOS Outreach, A Woman’s Work and the Colorado Brewers Guild (all nonprofits).
