Welcome to Colorado, the green-rush mecca where you can get as high as the altitude — and do it legally. If you’re lookin’ to score some legal weed, keep it classy, and follow these guidelines and tips:
Know before buying
•Colorado residents 21 and older can have up to one ounce of weed on them, and grow six or less plants privately.
•Visitors with out-of-state licences can have a quarter-ounce on them. And no, vacationers can’t grow weed!
•All weed must be purchased from a licensed retail-marijuana store. No need to engage in a hobo transaction. Also, that means no selling weed!
•Weed may not be consumed in public — meaning parks, on the street, in movie theaters, or in restaurants.
•Buyers must have a valid government-issued photo I.D. when they enter teh dispensary — a security guard will check ID on the way in. Don’t bring a temporary I.D. or an expired one.
•And finally, don’t drive high. Almost any trace of marijuana in the system, specifically five nanograms of THC, counts as a marijuana DUI, which carries punishments comparable to a motor-vehicle DUI. Laws are tough, Buffs. So follow them like good citizens.
•And just a side note: Don’t try and cross state borders with the marijuana you buy here because it’s illegal. But why would you ever want to leave Colorado anyway?
