The Boulder County Clerk and Recorder’s offices will be closed Thursday for an employee training day.

Closures will include Boulder, Lafayette, and Longmont offices and all three divisions: elections, motor vehicle, and recording, according to a news release. The office will reopen at 8 a.m. Friday and resume normal hours of operation.

Staff advised those who desire onsite service to either visit on the days before or after the closure. Additionally, Boulder County clients are encouraged to visit and navigate to the appropriate department to see if the service they need is available online. To avoid a wait for a future visit, residents can book an appointment for almost all motor vehicles services by visiting for appointment link. For residents in the Longmont area, vehicle renewal also can be completed at the self-service MV Express Kiosk at King Soopers, 1611 Pace St.

This specific closure date was chosen from historical data to minimize the impact on the public, the news release stated. The busiest times of the month are the very first few and last few days of the month and the busiest business days are Mondays and Fridays.
