CU Boulder gets top scores in international ranking

The Center for World University Rankings named the university No. 57 out of 20,000 schools worldwide

A global university ranking survey placed the University of Colorado Boulder in the top 0.3% of universities worldwide for its quality of education and faculty.

The Center for World University Rankings named CU Boulder No. 57 out of 20,000 universities around the world, putting it above schools like Boston University and the University of Notre Dame, according to a news release from the university.

CU Boulder was ranked highest for its quality of faculty, followed by its national ranking and research performance ranking.

The center looks at several factors when ranking universities, including quality of education, measured by how many alumni win major awards; alumni employment, measured by the number of alumni who have held top CEO positions; quality of faculty, measured by the number of academics who win major awards; research output, measured by the total number of research papers as well as how many appear in top-tier journals and influential journals; and citations, measured by the number of highly-cited papers.
